School Board Elections Set for September 13
Candidates can file papers until August 4 with school board secretary
School districts across the state will hold elections for school boards September 13. For the Southeast Webster-Grand district, three spots are open this election cycle. These are Sean Walen in District #1, Dan Hansen in District #2, and Todd Lundgren in District #3.
People interested in running for school board have from July 11-August 4 to file papers with their district’s school board secretary. For SWG, this is Karla Flickinger, whose office is in the Burnside building. Nomination petitions may be obtained from the school board secretary, the county auditor’s office, or online at www.sos.ia.us/elections/electioninfo/schoolelections/html.
SWG has a seven-person school board, which is comprised of three districts. District #1 is represented by Rob Scott and Sean Whalen and starts about one mile south of Dayton and goes south. District #2 is represented by Rob Stapp and Danny Hansen and covers just the surrounding area of Dayton about two miles out and to the river. District #3 is represented by Grant Gibbons, Todd Lundgren, and Dave Hainzinger and covers the Lehigh and Harcourt areas and to the west and north.
District #2 is represented by MICHELLE Stapp--not Rob--sorry. Michelle is awesome and super smart and I'm sorry I put her name on there wrong.
